5 Matcha Spots in Glasgow That Are Worth Trying

Glasgow is not short on matcha spots and here my top 5 that I think are worth trying!

Zennor

What I ordered: Iced maple matcha

Price: £4.20

Zennor serves one of the best, high-quality matcha I’ve tried! They freshly whisk the matcha with three options of syrups: vanilla, honey or maple, however these change seasonally. I ordered an iced maple matcha. The maple blended perfectly with the matcha without sitting at the bottom of the cup, creating a smooth and flavourful drink.

Godshot

What I ordered: iced peach matcha

Price: £4.60

One of my favourite matcha spots in Glasgow! The serene and ambient space with lots of aesthetic bits and bobs makes for a perfect browse while waiting for your drink. They offer a variety of delicious cakes – I tried the miso caramel and pretzel cookie. Godshot is known as one of the best matcha spots in Glasgow, and it definitely lives up to the hype. Their matcha is the perfect balance of earthy and sweet from the peach compote they use. The menu changes seasonally and they have recently added a banana bread matcha which I can’t wait to try!

Level 11

What I ordered: iced raspberry matcha

Price: £5.70

The most aesthetic but expensive matcha so far! I tried the vibrant green matcha paired with fresh raspberry compote was refreshing. However, towards the end it tasted somewhat bitter and I wished is was a touch sweeter. Adding a little honey or syrup would have balanced it perfectly. Still, it’s still worth a try!

Willow Grove Coffee

What I Ordered: matcha latte

Price: £3.90

A perfect matcha for very autumn and winter! I ordered a simple matcha latter since there weren’t any syrup options, but it was mixed with coconut sugar and cinnamon. Although this was delicious, the cinnamon and coconut sugar overpowered the matcha flavour, making it a bit gritty and more like a chai.

Roasters in Strathclyde Union

What I ordered: iced mango matcha

Price: £4.40

The matcha was delicious, but the mango flavour outpowered it, and the matcha flavour itself was a bit weak as it was prebatched (as you can tell from the photo). However, being located in the Strathclyde union makes it a convenient spot for a pick me up during a long day at university.
